Walking With Cheetahs 2011

Karen and Debra travel blog
Hello Everyone,
Follow us as we venture into the wilds of Namibia and South Africa. For the first two weeks we will be based near Windhoek Namibia where we'll be partaking in a volunteer programme on a game reserve. The glossy brochure assures us our daily activities will include walking with cheetahs and caracals, baby sitting baboons and throwing lumps of meat to lions for the amusement of the paying guests at the lodge.... and no, the lumps of meet are not the volunteers!!
Not to be outdone by the excitement of having hands on interaction with cheetahs, caracals and meerkats we then venture south to Cape Town for a week of R & R before hitting the road and travelling the great Garden Route to Port Elizabeth. During this time we will be mingling with penguins at Boulders Beach, exploring Table Mountain and Robbens Island, tackling the motor way in our Barina size Chevrolet... you can 'take the corner with me Miss Daisy!'
But...... the piece de resistance will be the last 3 nights of our Odessey at the luxurious Jocks Lodge (google it so you can be envious!!!) in Kruger National Park. No time for relaxing in the outdoor spa as there will be jeeps awaiting to take us on safari then return us to candlelight alfresco dining to the ambience of nature calling.
Oh, and we can't forget the reason for wrapping up our great adventure in such style... we celebrate Debra's Birthday on 14 October first class!!
So grab your passport, have your boarding pass ready and come and experience Namibia and South Africa..... the Scott Girl's way!!
Hope you enjoy our journal
