May 15, 2006 - Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay is one of the most amazing and beautiful natural places Helen and Danny have visited. They spent 2 days on their own private boat (with 4 crew members!) cruising amongst these amazing limestone pinnacles in northern Vietnam. Ha Long is about 3 hours drive from Hanoi and a UNESCO world heritage site. Helen wrote this enthrawling update.

Jan 8, 2006 - Halong Bay

Fra Hanoi tog vi paa en 2 dagstur til hvad vietnameserne betegner som "verdens 8. vidunder" (dem har vi efterhaanden stoedt paa et par stykker af), nemlig til Halong Bay. Her pryder flere tusinde limestone klipper billedet og skyder op af det groenlige vand. Stilheden er bestemt ogsaa det hele vaerd naar man kommer fra en haesblaesende by som Hanoi. Efter en eftermiddag hvor man bliver sejlet rundt og ser de mange limestones klipper og besoeger en grotte, havde vi ogsaa tid til en kajaktur. Det blev til en vaad affaere for vores...

Apr 28, 2005 - Halong Bay

Halong Bay is about 3 hours from Hanoi, and seems a well worn path for tourists. In fact, one of the most amazing things to see were the 'Tourist factories' set up to recieve dozens of coaches at a time on the way there. The buses stop on the pretext of a break to stretch the legs, what it really means is that some obscure little place out the back of which ever town you happen to be in is inundated with westerners to buy their embroideries, books, T-shirts and ice creams.... and there is no escape. Again, the tourist port in Halong is...
