Sep 18, 2008 - Fox Fire KOA in Milton, West Virginia

We knew going into it that a dually pickup would change the way we carried our little boat, a Porta-Bote. The original idea was to have the boat sit on the rack just above the cab length wise, like construction guys carry their ladders. Not working. We had to figure out a new way, it has been very consuming. But leave it to bright minds and thinking out of the box, here's a pic of our new solution. Move the racks and lay the boat crossways. And it's within legal width limits. And it works! From prior pics of the old pickup you remember we...

Mar 29, 2008 - Milton, WV

We made it to our destination yesterday afternoon. We are staying at the KOA in Huntington since this is the only campground for 60 miles that allows long term travelers. I even drove the coach yesterday for the first time. It was a piece of cake once I got the feel for it. At least now Ed will not have to do all the driving. The campground is down in a "holler". It will be beautiful here once the trees are in bloom. They have had a tremendous amount of rain the last couple days, there is a lot of flooding.

The Weaver's Travels

Feb 1, 2008 - First night in the trailer

We woke up this morning to a coating of ice on everything. It was 11 AM before it had warmed up enough to venture out onto the road. They were calling for snow in Pittsburgh tonight, so we thought it best to move on. We ran through rain for most of the day with temperatures just above freezing. Late in the afternoon we entered West Virginia. My co-pilot started scanning the Woodall's travel directory. She found a KOA at Milton that sounded pretty nice, and was open year around. We arrived here at about 7 PM. After setting up camp, we headed...

Jul 12, 2007 - On the Road

Foxfire KOA Campground, Milton, West Virginia We were up bright and early today to start our trip to Virginia. We left Collinsville, Illinois just a little before seven and grabbed a sandwich from Hardeeā€™s. This is not always the best breakfast, but it served our purpose of getting away quickly from the house. We made a pit stop at the Flying J in Haubstadt, Indiana for gas and then stopped at a rest area for lunch and to let the fuzzy babies stretch their little legs. I believe they were more interested in checking out the rest area than...
