Jun 30, 2016 - Strasburg, PA

We moved about 40 miles down the road to the heart of Amish country. That is Lancaster, Pa. We are just south of there in some hills. The land around here is mostly flatland, except for small areas of hilly terrain. White Oaks Campground is in one of those areas. The good news is our Wifi works here. The campground is filling up fast for the weekend. We will be here through the 4th. Hard to find campgrounds on holidays.

Jun 17, 2014 - Strasburg Pennsylvania

Today was another great day of watching the sun rise up over the trees from the east as the birds were chirping loudly thru out the campground. As everyone still gets rested for our day with Thomas the Train, I am out riding around the campground looking at all the campers that folks use to get away with. It is amazing how many different styles, types and brands there are that are still on the road. Time for us to travel over to Thomas the Train so the kids can have a fun time. We got there early because we had the early time which after...

Jun 16, 2014 - Strasburg Pennsylvania

Our day started out with beautiful weather as the sun peeked above the trees to the east of the campground. As I was riding around on my scooter I sighted two geese on the banks of the Old Mill Stream, which is the name of the campground. Along with the geese were five baby geese which were feasting on bugs for quite some time, never did see them get in the water. Did get a picture of them and a duck as it was taking off from the stream. The birds here are sure very loud and there are lots of them. This is the first place we have been that...

Our day started out with Chip leaving for work at 6:45 am to prepare for his two services. We drove over to the church to attend the 8:30 am service. As he was doing the 10:00 am service we got the truck hooked up and everything ready to leave when he was done. We were able to leave at 11:20 am for the trip to Lancaster Pennsylvania. The weather was great for a day of driving because we knew we wouldn’t get there until around 6:00 pm, so it was nice not to have bad weather. I hate to drive the Pennsylvania Turnpike around Pittsburgh...

Jul 22, 2010 - RED CABOOSE Motel,Train Ride,Trip through Amish Country ,Strasburg,PA

The Red Caboose Motel was different from any motel Becca and Ashlynn had ever seen before. They enjoyed looking at the caboose motels, but didn't want to stay overnight in one of them.:) After the Red Caboose Motel and the petting zoo,we all headed for our old train ride. This was the girls first train ride and grammy and pappy's first steam powered locomotive train ride. The old coach passenger cars from the early 1900's were restored back to original and very interesting with all of their intricate details. The girls enjoyed their first...

Jun 17, 2008 - Was man in ein paar Tagen alles erleben kann

Dienstag, 17.
