Jul 9, 2020 - Mount Pocono PA, Mount Airy Casino

Our trip to Mt. Pocono was good. We did run into some construction outside Hazelton PA (re-paving ), but, omg, a lot of the highways are in need of re-paving). It was a bit longer drive than we usually do, almost 280 miles, but we wanted to keep ahead of the tropical storm that is brewing off the NC coast. This is just an overnight stop. We plan to leave early tomorrow morning. Many thanks to the folks at the casino for allowing us to dry camp in their back lot once again. (We also stopped here in Sept of 2018). 2-Ole-Buddies & Bentley.

Aug 17, 2019 - Mount Pocono PA, Mount Airy Casino

Another overnight stop, dry camped in the lot at Mount Airy Casino. We did play a few slots, and left a little there for whomever would be playing after us. Had a nice meal at the buffet and a relatively quiet night dry camping ... really was no one else there, but the hour long t-storm was kinda exciting!! 2-Ole-Buddies & Bentley

Aug 28, 2009 - Touring in the Poconos

Our campground in Mt. Pocono is surrounded by state forest on three sides. It is mostly seasonal campers, but there are several sites for people like us. There are lots of amenities – pool, playground, laundry, game room, exercise equipment, a walking trial through the woods, horseshoe pits, etc. The Internet doesn’t work even though the owner assured us it would, so it’s a good thing we have our Verizon card now. The site we were assigned is short and steep – we may not be able to get the motorcycle out safely. Also, Fred was upset to find...

May 31, 2009 - Mount Pocono

After saying good bye to family we headed to the Poconos in PA. There we met our friends Tim & Dan and Doreen & Drew. The time had come for Dan and Doreen to move their 100 year old grandmother from her home into a nursing home living situation. We were there to support them and help out as we could. And how sad and difficult. Their grandparents had celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary while living in that home, had gone through the death of Paps in that home, and now was the final leaving. Was quite a humbling experience. Also some...

Aug 24, 2008 - Mt. Pocono Camp Ground

Mt. Pocono camp ground, what a beautiful place. So secluded, the sites are a nice size and very private. The camp ground is huge. Hiking trails a pool and a pond to take short strolls to. We decided to take a ride to Buskill Falls. We spent the entire day. And what a beautiful day it was. This place is a must see if you haven't been there. The falls are spectacular. Bring a camera with you. Lots of things to take pictures of. I had a blast, this place rocks. I want to go back as soon as possible. looking forward to next year.

Jul 15, 2008 - OTRA - PA - Mt. Pocono

We're getting better at getting off at a good hour. Of course, we didn't have to hook up the truck so..... Left around 11:45 and had an easy drive to Mt. Pocono via I-81 to I-80 to I-380 to SR940 then SR196 and finally, Edgewood Road. Let me tell you, though...you sure can tell when you get into PA 'cause the interstates are horrible. Normally, when I go to set up the inside of the house, everything is where I've put it for traveling. Well, when I went to set up in Mt. Pocono, after traveling I-81 and I-80 in PA, there was stuff all over...
