We took a drive through the back roads through the mountains and headed to Jim Thorpe, PA. Jim Thorpe was founded as Mauch Chunk in 1818. Mauch Chunk meaning "bear mountain. The town has been called the "Switzerland of America" due to the picturesque scenery, mountainous location, and architecture; as well as the "Gateway to the Poconos." Cold but dry day so we headed for the Jim Thorpe area for sightseeing and geo caching. Before we left the resort grounds we stopped and logged a benchmark. We were able to visit 6 cache sites today and found 4, we dnf 2 micro caches. The area had a lot of nice views we were busy watching and did not really take a lot of pictures. We had a nice lunch at local place and it was under 10 bucks for the two of us. Why is eating out expensive some places.
