Jul 12, 2013 - Travel Day

We left the house at 8:17am. There was a fire in Stockertown, near Tony's Pizza. Small detour. Our destination today is Fremont, OH. It took us about 8 hours to reach our hotel, the Double A Hotel, in Fremont. The drive was uneventful and we only made a few stops along the way. Upon our arrival in Fremont we noticed lots of branches piled up along the streets. Then all the traffic lights weren't working. This wasn't a good sign. When we pulled up to the hotel, there wasn't anyone around and it was dark inside. We were just getting ready to...

Jun 26, 2010 - Crayola Factory

We were in no hurry to get up this morning but even at that we were on the road to the Crayola Factory by 9:30am. We arrived in the town of Easton, PA to find not only the Crayola Factory but also a Farmers Market in the town square which we walked around first before going to the factory. Admission to the factory, which included the National Canal Museum, was $9.75 per person. The Crayola Factory was located on the second floor and consisted of the Crayola Manufacturing Theatre and many hands-on projects for the kids to complete. At the...

Nov 3, 2009 - Tuesday

Tuesday was a nice day, no rain and lots of sunshine. We decided to take a quick trip to the Crayola Factory and be back here for a 1:30 sales pitch from the resort. Well that did not work out. We went over to Easton and the Crayola Factory took a couple hours to go through. It is designed for kids and lots of school classes were there and it was fun to see the kids having the times of their lives and we joined right in. After that we decided to try to find a couple Geo Caches. The first was a micro cache and just as we were about to give...

Jul 9, 2009 - Back to West Virginia

Sunday - Wednesday [7/5-8] - My birthday! I turned 57 today. My camera broke Friday so Moe got me a new one just like hers. Ain't love grand! Monday we stopped by TASCO to get our mail [Vycki and Wanda are checking my PO Box for us]. We went to Bank of America and finally got the last of the lost credit cards replaced. Since we were stuck for at least 2 days, I was able to go back to work as a 'contract' programmer. I had fun, TASCO got some needed changes made, and I made a buck too. Moe got her bike back back Tuesday evening. Wednesday we...

Jun 8, 2009 - Relatives in PA

Our drive on Monday is south. We're heading to PA to stay with Jim's cousin Joe and Patty but not before a stop in St. Clair, PA (the town Jim's mom grew up in before heading to NYC). We stopped by the house and found that a cousin's daughter had bought it - still in the family since early 1900's. Then we stopped by Jim's Aunt's house for a quick "Hello" and then off to Easton.
