I drove just a couple of hours to Allegany National Forest in Pennsylvania. I ended up driving forever to find somewhere to camp though. They had the same set up where you could camp for free where ever you found a place. I couldn't find a place. Well...I take that back...I found a gorgeous place. I hope I can find it again someday. I just didn't want to stay there by myself...and I couldn't get Leonardo down the hill so that would have been a long hike with my cooler and tent and everything. LAZY! So I leave this perfect spot and I end up...

May 15, 2009 - Travel day 1

We got started about on time (with one little glitch - our TV antenna was up and after a phone call, that was remedied -THANKS STEVE). We made a long day of it as we don't intended to sight-see much this side of the Mississippi. We know the stimulus money is working, there's construction everywhere. After 5 yrs of full timing, I can't believe we don't know how to pack up. We had to pick up inside the camper with every stop.(I'll get it right soon, I Hope) I still have no idea where anything is, so guess I won't miss it!!

Sep 28, 2007 - Hammond Indiana to Brookville Pennsylvania - The tire saga ends on a high note.

Depart: 10AM; Temperature 68 Degrees Trip Total Miles: 3139Miles; Trip Average Speed 57.2 MPH; Trip Total Drive Time: 59H:26M; Trip MPG: 57.2 MPG The drill sergeant lets me sleep in this morning since we didn't arrive at our hotel until midnight last night. We scooted through Chicago, so we'd miss the morning rush hour. So far the only rush hour we've encountered during the 3600 miles we have traveled is a few bison crossing the road and holding up some cars in Yellowstone. Today we travel East on 80 for most of the day. Marty's correct...
