John is awake early and heads to the pond to fish. I sleep in. I am up in time to travel with Alice for the day. Alice is taking her mom, Geneva, to a doctor’s appointment outside of Cincinnati. For breakfast, Peggy’s John fixes us a wonderful veggie omelet. Peggy is already out working. My John has promised Peggy a ride on his motorcycle. When she finishes her barn work, Peggy is ready to go! Her dog Jack watches and waits impatiently for her to return. When John and Peggy pull back into the drive, she has a huge grin on her face. Jack is relieved. Our grandmother would have told Peggy that she had “slipped a cog.” Before noon, we have said our goodbyes and are on our way to Blanchester.
