In 1678, a group of Huguenot families established a community in the Hudson Valley of New York in the hope of creating a home where they could worship as they chose. My father's family has published a family history and pedigree chart that traces back to a "Christian DuBois." I am doing this from memory and I am not sure of his name, except that the DuBois family were French Huguenots that escaped the purge of the Protestants by heading to the Netherlands.
