Aug 4, 2016 - From Vermont to New York

We had another pretty drive today thru Vermont, across Lake Champlain (it's huge!) & into New York & the Adirondack Mountains. The roads we traveled varied from barely 2 lanes to freeways. We drove 164 miles & it took us about 5 hours - you don't drive fast on 2-lane, curvy mountain roads. We're spending tonite in Long Lake, NY, at Hoss's Country Corner & Campground. It's a small campground but it offers full hookups & is right on Long Lake. We were lucky enough to get a site that is on the lake so we're backed up to the lake with gorgeous...

Jul 8, 2014 - Buttermilk Falls in the Adirondacks

We took a short but washed out trail to Buttermilk Falls after visiting the Adirondack Museum. It was lovely! Buttermilk Falls is on the Raquette River outside Long Lake, via NYS Route 28 and 30. It is supposed to be one of the most visited falls in the Adirondacks. That is probably because it is such a short hike!
