Aug 3, 2012 - Back in NY

After a great ride back east we arrived at Penny's dads farm yesterday afternoon. All is well here and John is looking very good considering how sick he had been last year. The farm is even in pretty good shape. We will be here for about a month helping out a bit and visiting with family. It is warmer than usual here, so hopefully it will start cooling off soon. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.Gary & Penny

Jul 2, 2011 - Back in NY

Penny and I were about 1/2 way between Bar Harbor and Calais, Me. heading for the Canadian border when we got a call from Penny's dads Dr. saying they were changing his meds and doing more tests to include a stress test. He is 79, so we felt it best to wave off Nova Scotia and return to the farm. We got back yesterday after a really nice two day ride through northern NH, VT and some of the Adirondacks. What wonderful scenery! While we are here in NY we will be making some short trips to the numerous lakes to do some camping and fishing. In...

May 5, 2011 - We are in NY

Hi everyone. Sorry we haven't been updating our blog, but our computer has had some issues and we had to send it in for repairs. We have been at Penny's dads farm since April 29th. Helping get the farm equipment fixed and making sure he stays in good health. The weather has been less than pleasant with many cold and rainy days. Lots of new calves and waiting on pigs to be born. We will be updating as things come up. We plan on being here until early June. Hope everyone is well. Gary & Penny

Oct 18, 2010 - On the farm

Well, it has been a while since Penny and I updated the blog. We have been staying at Penny's dads farm since Oct 1 and busy helping him get ready for the long cold winter. We have been cutting wood, fixing or attempting to fix farm equipment and visiting relatives. The weather has been so, so. We had a nor'easter for a couple of days that brought lots of rain and wind. If you are familiar with farm life rain means lots of mud, but it is starting to dry out. It is rather chilly this morning, low 40's and windy. We will be leaving on Monday...
