Jun 13, 2008 - Leg Six B

061308. We all got up relatively early. The kids were excited to spend the day canoeing in the swamps. We had breakfast, bought every available drink we could find (all of the water at the campsite was murky—but supposedly potable—I decided not to take a chance), and went to pickup the canoe. We observed alligators cruise the bayou, drifting on the surface. When boats came by, they...

Jan 19, 2007 - Living a Poche Life

Well, we made it to our final destination...Convent, Louisiana. We are staying at the Poche Plantation, a very nice Plantation and RV park. I took pictures of the surroundings so that y'all would have a good idea of our setup. Here is the website Visit pocheplantation. We're about an hour outside of New Orleans, which is a bit of a bummer because we both would have preferred to be closer to the city. We haven't been able to go into Nawlins as of yet...but Mardi Gras is coming up so I am sure we will be making some trips in for the parades...
