Our trip from Lake of the Ozarks to Henderson, KY was scheduled to be about 6 hours - mostly through farmland and the St Louis metropolis. But it was eclipse day and shortly before we left on this road trip we realized that we would be travelling through the path of totality. Jefferson City, the state capital, was “filling” up fields and parks with eclipse observers at 10 in the morning. Oct 31, 2007 - the Mad Bluebird

The Mad Bluebird Wednesday, October 31 At 7:30 it's already 53 degrees so it didn't get as cold last night. Maybe because it's overcast this morning. You can see patches of blue sky but there are a lot of clouds and it looks like rain. Trees are stirring and the lake is starting to rough up. Two interesting things have struck me here. One is a low budget RV I call the 'Tennessee camper'. It's a covered utility trailer towed behind a car or pickup, and people here use them to haul their junk out to the campground.
