Apr 26, 2017 - heading home

George is doing alot better he is talking and setting up. He still has a long way to go becuase of the swollowing. He still has a feeding tub in his stomach. They are still adjusting his blood thinners. As soon as that's done he will head back to Austin to the Nuero Rehab Facility. We headed for home Monday the roads are all busy. The economy is looking good with all of the trucks on the road. Which is fine with us I would reather have a road full of trucks than a road full of crazy car drivers. We woke up Tuesday morning with a flat tire...

Don't wake me up

Apr 2, 2015 - March 31st

We started home today. We had a little trouble getting through Pensacola and it was 80 or so miles before getting to I-65 in Alabama but we did pretty well after that making it to Franklin Kentucky where we spent the night in a Wal-Mart parking lot. There were several other RV's there. We did notice quite a few trucks on the road today. We also noticed that diesel fuel has dropped in price over the winter.

May 28, 2013 - Journey into Kentucky

Sorry folks, no pics tonight. We traveled through Tennessee into Kentucky along Music Highway today for nearly six hours. The rolling hillside is beautiful, but we are simply resting for another five hour journey tomorrow. This is day one of the homeward bound part of the trip.

The Gypsy Whaylands

Mar 21, 2013 - stalling didn't work!

Well this was a big day for us. First we were on interstate 65 all day . We prefer smaller roads. We came straight thru downtown Nashville which always has allot of traffic. We saw at least 2 wrecks. Then the really big thing is we drove 325 miles. The weather guessers said they were going to have snow in Tennessee tomorrow so we wanted to get on into Ky. We will be home tomorrow. Donald found a water leak underneath yesterday so guess we will stay in the duplex until he gets it fixed. Had to call and have the water turned on and will have...

Don't wake me up

Apr 19, 2012 - Franklin KY. The Last NIght on The Road

April 19 2012 Franklin KY Home of the Bluegrass Festival. The roads and weather have been great so we have made pretty good time without beating ourselves to death. Driving a Motor Home is pretty relaxing and the miles seem to go fast. This is the first time at the Bluegrass Music RV Park. Nancy found it in one of our camping books and sure glad that she did. Nice Campground and like most country RV Parks high water pressure. Not to worry as we always use our homemade pressure reducer. For additional information on this park please click...

May 1, 2011 - Troy, AL to Franklin, KY

The drive from Troy to Franklin,KY was scenic and tragic. Tragic was the devastation wrought by the recent tornadoes which passed through northern Alabama. Our interstate Rt. 65 was open but several areas were without electric and buildings lay in ruins amongst uprooted trees in and about Birmingham. One couple borrowed ice from our freezer bin to preserve insulin-they were unable to find ice anywhere and went to the interstate rest area where they found us. We stopped early today to wait out some severe thunderstorms in southern Kentucky....

TRIP OFA LIFETIME IV

Apr 23, 2011 - Florida to Kentucky

Left home today and drove all the way to Franklin, KY. Stayed at the Bluegrass Music RV campground since they are supposed to be Passport America affiliated; however, we won't stay there again since they do not honor their advertisement. Last year the Greens and us stayed there and we got the Passport rate, but they charged Cookie & Charlie more. The host told me I could pay the full $37 or pack up and leave. If we hadn't been settled, we would probably have driven to Bowling Green, KY. About 1:30 am Easter morning we awoke to one terrible...

Apr 9, 2009 - A 45 minute move

. Today was moving day and we had fine weather for our travel north to Kentucky. We spent only 45 minutes, however, moving from our origin in Tennessee to our destination in Kentucky. Oh well, we left very late and arrived early, having a lot of wonderful afternoon ahead for rest and relaxation after setting up camp. Life is good! Our home for the next three nights is at the Bluegrass Music RV Park in Franklin, Kentucky. Once a KOA, the park is undergoing a lot of repair and they are building a venue for an annual bluegrass festival at this...

Oct 28, 2008 - On to Franklin,Ky

We went to Kentucky today after going back in to Georgia, then back in to Tennessee before arring in Franklin just across the state line. Tired of looking at battlefields and ready to stop sightseeing too I think. So we'll go on back into Tennessee again heading toward Arkie. Stopped at Jackson, Tn, for the night; it's about 50 miles East of Memphis. One of a kind campground! Suppose to be between 28-30 degrees tonight, had a high of 52 as we were traveling. Think it was about 36 when we were hooking up to leave Chattanooga. Just a shade...
