The KOA office has much information on the National Road in Illinois. We realize that we have never driven this route. Today is the day! We begin our morning in Casey, IL. We find the World’s Largest Rocking Chair and the World’s Largest Wind Chime. The Wind Chime works. I am pulling with all my might with no result. “Huh – that’s what I always say”. After three months on the road, it is my turn to tell how much smarter I’m getting! Along with historic and geographic tid-bits, I realize that all those years I spent driving alone and worrying about my signal lights are now handled by my lovely passenger! Stayed at the Steven Forbes State Park, nice place with lots to do. We will try to get back here again. Hit some bad weather on our way here, tornados in the area we passed through, some trailers and tractor trailers overturned and some roofs on businesses damaged. We had a great dinner at the Marina here with our group.
