Nice, nice warm morning. We decided to go for a drive to see new stuff. We drove south to the Ohio River and stopped at Fort Massac State Park right on the bank of the river. It is a reconstructed fort dating back to the French and Indian War in the 1760’s. There was an interesting museum and you could ramble thru all the buildings. Then we drove into the booming metropolis of……………….Metropolis, Illinois. And we all know who worked at the Daily Planet newspaper there don’t we? With Lois Lane? Well Superman of course. Nov 6, 2009 - More exploring

Weds, 11-4 Another gorgeous morning as I took my stroll. The sun was shimmering off the reservoir, gulls were flying everywhere and there were several large white pelicans floating around. After breakfast we loaded the bikes in the back of the truck and drove around to the south end of the reservoir where there was a visitor center and more bike trail. The visitor center is located at the dam. It is a huge earthen dam and the spillway dumps into the Big Muddy River. The bike trail here is also a concrete sidewalk. This one is 10’ wide and...
