As we worked our way south from Charleston to Fort Pierce, where we will spend the holidays, we stopped in Folkston Georgia to visit the Okefenokee Swamp. The Okefenokee is a 438,000 acre (700 sq. mile) National Wildlife Refuge and is largely in it's natural state. It is one of the largest and most pristine fresh water areas in the United States and is the source of the Suwanee River (as in way down upon).
