Jan 1, 2020 - Our home in Georgia (9/3 - 10/20/19)

We try to spend some time here each year. We have a garage and a great place to make any RV and Jeep repairs. This time things looked much better than the last time we were here. When we left last year, Hurricane Michael had been through and wreaked havoc on everything. Now all of the debris has been removed and things are back to normal. We had a bit of work to do on the Jeep. For the month of September, though, the weather was very warm and humid. Along with the warm come the gnats! Tim did quite a lot of work on the Jeep, including...

Dec 6, 2018 - Our home in Southwest Georgia (12/1 - 12/2/18)

Our drive to Baconton was only about 4 hours, but it rained most of the way. We got there to find that the house had been decorated for Christmas! It looked absolutely beautiful!!! This is the first time ever that I've had a Christmas tree in this house. I loved it!!! It felt good to be back and this is the first time Joanne has been here. She got to meet my best friend, Benita, and they hit it off right away! We arrived on a Saturday, so we were able to make our Saturday auction! We really wanted Joanne to see how we spend our Saturday...

Nov 5, 2018 - Our home in Southwest Georgia (9/13 - 10/27/18)

We wanted to spend about a month at our home in Georgia. My best/oldest friend, Benita Sprint (whom I have known since I was 5 or 6 years old) has been staying at our house because it is much closer to her work. She has a beautiful home on Lake Blackshear which is about an hour away. While we were gone, she made a few changes to the house. Actually, upgrades would be a much better word for what she did! Every room is so gorgeous that the house could be featured in 'House Beautiful'!! It was so lovely that Tim was speechless, and anyone who...

Apr 3, 2018 - Our home in Southwest Georgia (1/10 - 4/28/18)

We haven't fallen off the face of the earth! I will updating this one again, but wanted to let you know where we are. I grew up in southwest Georgia, Baconton to be exact. We now own my grandparents home where I spent many, many happy hours as a kid. Over the last 10 years we have completely renovated this house and we love it. This is where we like to spend at least part of the winter because it is milder and it is just a nice place to mellow. The trip here from Virginia wasn't too bad. The weather was a bit wet at times, but all the...

May 2, 2017 - Our place in Southwest Georgia (1/22/17 - 4/16/17)

Hi y'all! I am back! The last four months have been busy, but not a whole lot of traveling. We arrived in Baconton, GA on the 22nd of January and left on the 17th of April. We inherited a house there from my grandparents. We like spending the winter in SW Georgia because the weather is much more amenable. While we were there we had many days of just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. We also got some projects completed. The house desperately needed new windows, but they are very large (43" x 77"). We had enough time there that we...

Jan 21, 2016 - On the Move in 2016

We have been off the travel grid for a while, but now we are back! We left Virginia Beach on December 31, 2015 headed for sowega (southwest Georgia) to take care of a couple of upgrades on the RV. We drove straight through to our place and arrived about an hour and a half before the new year. Here we have all the space we need to work. We had planned to come down here for a couple of days and then head west to Quartzite, AZ for the annual RV rally, but the bad weather west put the skids on those plans. Oh well, there is always next year!!...
