Coming to Sacramento we had the flights from hell. But we arrived in daylight, the truck started, the RV worked and we drove only 6 miles to the Yolo County Fairgrounds. The California State Fair was in full swing at Cal Expo and we couldn’t stay there. The truck needed work done anyway, including draining the DEF, and we liked and trusted the Chevy dealer in Woodland. A new tactic for the cross country airplane ride. Take an early afternoon flight from Orlando to Sacramento arriving in early evening while it is still light. Then Uber to the storage lot, use the truck to get some dinner and sleep in the RV in the storage lot overnight. The best laid plans! There were flight delays, an unexpected plane change in Houston so it was almost dark by the time we got to the lot. We used the generator for a bit to cool off the RV but the night was cool and so the temperature in the RV was bearable with the windows...

The Summer of 2017

Jul 26, 2011 - First stop Woodland CA

Picked up our new Town & Country mini van at noon and drove to the Holiday Inn Express in Woodland. No time for jet-lag ... things to do! We decided on an adventure to Napa Valley ... so off we went! Thought we saw smoke from a wildfire ... but it was too "black" ... later learned it was a huge fire at a Macro Plastics Company.

Sep 14, 2008 - The Road Home--Seven Feathers Oregon to Bakersfield CA

Well, we have run out of places to go and the temps in Arizona are getting liveable so we are homeward bound! We always stop in Medford to see friends Steve and LeeAnn. Medford is a lovely area, although the air quality this year was not good. We are still looking for a good place to stay in the Medford area--so far the Holiday RV Park is about the best but it leaves a lot to be desired! Dead grass between the very close together sites, tight maneuvering, close to noisy I-5--but it has cable tv and full hook-ups so who is complaining??? We...
