We drove to Bodega Bay yesterday. The town is a very small fishing village (no groceries, no fast food). The wharf is full of "fresh crab" signs (guess where I'll be today at lunchtime). Last night, we drove up into the hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean and watched the sunset. I think it's the first time I have ever seen the sunset over the west coast. The campground was hard to find, and the GPS failed us. Bill says that the GPS's accuracy is dependent upon the various local governmental entities submitting their streets into a national...

Since we had already spent some time in the Wine country earlier in the week, thought we'd start out a different direction. Had never been to Bodega Bay - thought we'd check it out. Beautiful headlands with houses slipping into the Ocean -- now I can see why Kitzhaber is so "death" on saving houses on the beach -- you should see the mess on the beaches here -- huge concrete, rock, log, etc. structures trying to hold back the ocean to the total detriment of the beauty of the land -- and, you know, the ocean will probably still prevail.
