Feb 17, 2010 - Beware The Wrath Of Mary

High in the 70's again today and a lot of the trees are already in full bloom. The bingo gods have certainly been smiling down upon us lately, today I won one game and Mary won one and a half. We stopped by a thrift store on the way home, Mary ended up chewing out the lady behind the desk for being too high priced, do you think that qualifies her to be a redneck?

Feb 15, 2010 - Another Busy Day At The Center

Today is Senior Club Meeting Day and potluck lunch at the Center. I had to leave at 7AM to drive into Fresno to pick up Ruby our club secretary who is having car problems, on the way in the visibility was down to a few feet from the fog. Mary calls the bingo games and I sell tickets for the raffle drawings.

Feb 14, 2010 - Is Summer On The Way?

Apparently Mexicans aren't big NASCAR fans because today is the Daytona 500 and they are all over at the Flea market this morning instead of watching the race. Days are already getting longer, seems like all of a sudden the sun is now sitting at 6PM instead of 5PM. Started to put some thought into our trip to Montana this spring, I think we'll head north and make a right at Seattle. We are thinking of leaving Madera April 2nd so we can celebrate Mary's birthday here before we leave. Along the way we have some relatives, friends and sights...

Feb 12, 2010 - Looks like I'll be Around for Awhile

I won at bingo once in the morning session. At 1PM I met with Dr. Ahktar and was given the good news that the polyps he took out were of the type that aren't cancerous even if they aren't removed. My appointment with Dr Gustaveson was 2:30PM but we didn't get in until 3:30 so I was surprised that my blood pressure was only 106/67 when they checked it, once again all reports came back good even my PSA number was back down to 4.7 so apparently I had an infection because if it was cancer antibiotics wouldn't bring the number down.

Feb 11, 2010 - NASCAR Begins Again

I stayed home today to wait on the tire guy and to watch the NASCAR Twin 125 qualifiers for the Daytona 500. Apparently they replaced the valve cores in the wheels but not the extensions. Mary went off to the Senior Center where she called the bingo games in the morning but got to play in the afternoon and ended up winning a game.

Feb 10, 2010 - Another Job Offer

Both rear duals holding at 70psi so apparently I have a couple of valve cores leaking, I called Wally and he will send one of the guys out tomorrow. No luck at bingo today but Wednesday is bread day so we did get a loaf of whole wheat and a loaf of French bread. While we were at the Laundromat this afternoon we met a couple who are in charge of recruiting camp hosts for the BLM camp grounds at lakes in central California, very interesting but sounds too much like a full time job.

Feb 8, 2010 - a Stint at the Blackjack Table

Felt good to sleep in this morning and take a shower with an oversize shower head with a lot of water pressure, if we had a shower head like that in the coach I'd have to dump the grey water tank every other day. We did a little gambling this morning then had too much to eat for lunch at the buffet. I played blackjack for 2 1/2 hours this afternoon and walked away with $15 less than I started with, thats much better than I ever do at the penny slots. Unlike the rest of the country California is green in the winter and brown in the summer,...

Feb 7, 2010 - a Night Away From Home

Pumped both of the rear duals up to 70PSI and put on new valve caps I'll check when we get back Monday afternoon to see if they hold that pressure. We picked up Dennis and Mary for our trip up to the Chuckchansi Gold Resort and Casino, rain and mist all the way up. Check in is 3:00 but I guess the people with the free rooms go to the bottom of the list because it was after 5:00 before we got our rooms. They have two hotel towers, we determined we must be in the wrong one when neither one of our keys would open the door to our rooms. Our...

Feb 6, 2010 - Still Raining

Still raining, for the first time in quite a few years northern California is way ahead of the year to date annual rainfall and the snow pack in the moutains is also well above normal. Hopefully this means the farmers here will get the water they need for their crops this summer and don't have to fight with the enviromental wacko's over protecting the Delta Smelt.

Feb 5, 2010 - I need a Little Help Here?

Rained most of the night last night. Before going into the Center this morning I needed to stop by Dr, Gustaveson's to give some more blood samples, what I didn't want to hear when they have a needle stuck in my arm is for her to ask her supervisor for a little help, after a little poking around they got it flowing and I was out of there. After we left the doctor's office we stopped at a garage sale, I bought a couple of nice straw hats and Mary got a new throw blanket for the couch and a mini beater for making omelet's for a grand total of...

Feb 4, 2010 - Budget Buster

We spent most of the day in Fresno running errands, our first stop was Airgas to get my nitrogen bottle refilled then onto Trane to return a hose I bought when I picked up the nitrogen bottle that I don't need and a quick chat with Ralph then onto Big Lots for some miscellaneous needs we capped off the trip with lunch at Denny's in Clovis with the Central Coasters RV Club. Mary spent the rest of the afternoon at the Laundromat while I paid our bills online. We will need to tighten our belts the next couple of months because we blew through...
