After spending two great weeks with our friends Steve and Karen, we had the most difficult part of our lifestyle to contend with this morning in Mesa…saying so long to these good folks. We have accepted this as part of our chosen way of life, but that doesn't make the task any easier. Steve and Karen and her parents Al and Pam were excellent hosts. Thank you!!!!! Nov 21, 2010 - Day 21

Day 21 - Blythe to Kettleman City Starting Odometer: 35560 Miles traveled today: 510 Departed at 7:00 to crisp, blue skies over Blythe. First came the desert wind and sand. Then, the cold arctic air. Then, the rain. By the time I reached Banning, I was warned by the gas station attendant to confirm the weather with the CHP and spend the night there. I did neither. I knew that the cold air and moisture was a problem over the passes, but I couldn’t imagine not being able to ride on through at near sea level, considering the riding conditions...

Feb 28, 2008 - I-5 At Last

Left Indio this morning and with the help of Melanie, our GPS, we managed to get around, through, and out of L.A. with no major problems. Found a RV Park in Kettleman City just off I-5 for the night and with in walking distance of numerous restaurants. Mike's Roadhouse was the choice, and a good one it was. Closest thing to a Big 6 Burger i've found. They also had an incredible display of restored pedal cars on display, all sorts and types.

Albuquerque Winter

Nov 22, 2007 - Travelers RV Park, Kettleman City, California

Today we packed up and were finally ready to leave at 11:30 AM. It was later than we wanted but we had lots of stuff to put away. We drove then until right before dark and ended up at Kettleman City, California at the Travelers RV Park. The park isn't anything to write home about, but okay for the night.
