Jun 10, 2018 - Family, Friends & Hanging Out
The past several weeks has been a crazy mix of family events, RV Club camping and annual maintenance on the new coach. Not very exciting stuff to put in a travel blog but all part of this adventurous and unconventional lifestyle that we’ve embarked on. June marks the completion of our first year back on the road, full-time! The year just flew by for us. We have a lot of exciting adventures coming up for this year. This post contains pictures of my family’s reunion, our RV camping club gathering, a stay at the brand-new Cava Robles RV Park...Jump to full entry
Dec 22, 2011 - D'land still busy, we were much better at it though!!
Day 2 in the world of Disneyland themeparks and we were old hands! We set off early and always had a plan. There were still the horrible queues but nothing we could do about them. Most of the rides were so unbelievable that when they were over you sort of forgot you had lined up for 45 mins to get on them! The photo of Sarah shows a rollercoaster in the background - this is called California Screamin' and yes did we scream! I have never enjoyed a ride so much (since I've been of around this age!). The rides like this these days are so...Jump to full entry
Dec 21, 2011 - Disneyline.....would be so much better without the queues
Well, we did it! 10 hours at Disneyland.... All the rides were just fantastic but the overall experience was tainted by the length of the queues (average 1hr per ride) and the size of the crowds. Advice to anyone coming to Disneyland, make sure it is out of US school holidays! I was so surprised there was no crowd rage, everyone in the park stayed calm as far as I could see.......Tim (who would rather stick needles in his eyes than queue up) lasted until 3 then he and Jack went off to the movies! After that Max, Sarah and I raced around to...Jump to full entry
Dec 20, 2011 - We love Niketown! And many other things....
We are now in Anaheim ready to hit Disneyland tomorrow..... So many highlights of today. Rodeo Drive was definitely one of them, we loved all of the beautiful shop windows, so festive and chi-chi (in Max's words). We did venture into a few shops but felt quite underdressed in our casual holiday wear! We did feel very at home in Niketown Beverley Hills and we all left there very satisfied as you can see from our shoe collection. Driving up windy, narrow, steep residential streets to get as close to the Hollywood sign as we could was a...Jump to full entry
May 30, 2007 - Last day in our stick house.
Today is the last day in our "stick house". We have lived here for 26 years and 11 months, most of our married life. We are comfortable with our decision to sell the house and start this new adventure called "full-time RVing" but we are also sad to leave this home we have enjoyed so much. We love the house, the neighborhood, and the neighbors but it is time to move on to something new. We wonder how we will adapt to living in a 160 sq. ft. home after so many years in a 2,400 sq. ft. home. It will be interesting!Jump to full entry
