Nov 12, 2009 - Of course there were things to do in the house..
Of course there were things to do in and around the house........ In addition to getting the shop started we had other projects that had to be taken care of. Things like getting a propane tank delivered so we could have hot water, and I have to admit the hot water heater almost whipped me trying to get the pilot to light on it. It took the better part of a day and a half to get if working, and to find out that the pilot line was jammed with whatever was in there, but when I dismantled the entire burner assembly and used 140 lbs of air...Jump to full entry
Nov 11, 2009 - Never a dull moment.........
Never a dull moment.......11 Nov 09 Well it seems that time flies whether we are having fun or not. We left MO in early July and passed on the stop in Arkansas and just headed back for Arizona via Interstate 44/40 all the way to Albuquerque, NM and then down I 24 and across highway 26 to catch Interstate 10 at Deming, NM. We were anxious to get back to start getting the house all fixed the way we wanted it, so only stopped for two nights on the way back. One in Amarillo at the RV Ranch where we had stayed on the way to MO with the...Jump to full entry
Jul 31, 2009 - Even fun time must end.
Every fun time must end.... After all the day trips, the desert excursions, mountain pass crossings, food ate and fun had by all seeing everything we possibly could in the short period of time we had, the time came that we must start the trek back to Missouri to return the grand sons to their homes and it was also time to prepare for the school year. At times they seemed homesick, but most of the time they were just having fun and enjoying what they were doing with us. On Thursday morning 23 July I woke the boys up just before seven am...Jump to full entry
Jul 26, 2009 - Trips between the trips.
After the truck was off loaded and things were semi abnormal in the house, we decided it was time to start showing the Grandsons around the area. Keep in mind many of the pictures on these entries have been on other entries, but these were taken by the grand sons, ages 13 and 14. I figured the only way for them to experience the sites was to see them for themselves, not through mine or Sharon's eyes. I handed them the camera and told them to take the pictures they wanted, and to be very careful with the camera because breaking it could very...Jump to full entry
Jul 17, 2009 - The Whirlwind moves on
Yes, I know it has been a long spell since I posted to this site, but things have been absolutely whirlwindish around us for some time. As most know we bought a house in Whetstone, AZ before the winter was over and are trying to get moved into it as much as possible. We finally closed on the house on 1 May 09 after driving to Phoenix to sign the papers. It was without a doubt the most horrible real estate deal we have every had, except for the price of the house. I have vowed to never work with HUD again as long as I shall live, unless it...Jump to full entry
