Leaving Page, AZ. traveling to Jacob Lake, our basecamp for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, we made a brief stop at Marble Canyon and Lees Ferry. Lees Ferry lies in the break between Glen, Marble, and Paria Canyons, downriver from Glen Canyon Dam. This natural corridor was the only place a wagon road could be built to connect Utah with northeastern Arizona. Lees Ferry was named for and settled by Mormon John D.
