January 21, 2019 The first three weeks of this year have zoomed by. After staying at my friend’s home in Lake Havasu City, I traveled south to Quartzsite to join my “tribe” on the first official day of the 2019 Rubber Tramp Rendezvous. They had set up camp in an area where last year’s RTR was held, so we were not in the official RTR area. Instead we were in a less crowded and much quieter area but still within walking distance of the main area where the seminars, bulletin board and “free” table were located. Feb 3, 2018 - Cibola National Wildlife Refuge

Another side trip. This time we went to Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. It is about 40 miles from Quartzsite, and located in Arizona, but you have to drive to California to get there from here. Weird. Anyways, the refuge did not disappoint. I saw a Burrowing Owl. Who does not like them? And the Sandhill Cranes were there. Again, it was a bird thing, and I took a “few” pictures. I did not put them all on here! Hope you enjoy them!

Feb 27, 2008 - Day 25: Cibola NWR & 2 lifer day!

In birding, as in some other endeavors, sometimes one is good, sometimes one is lucky, and the best is when you're good and lucky. Today we traveled north through California to Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. The shortest route is through California, but the refuge visitor's center and most of the refuge grounds are on the Arizona side of the Colorado River.
