I didn't expect to see what was here! I thought it was going to be another monument to preserve a typical pueblo village, but I was wrong again! I was amazed by the sophistication of this pueblo community. See the pictures and I think you will be too!

Dec 3, 2008 - Casa Grande Nat'l Monument

Today we took a trip to the Casa Grande Nat’l Monument. This is an archeological site of the ruins of the Hohokam Indians from some believe about 300BC to around 1200 AD. The major structure, “Great House” was discovered by a missionary in the 1600’s. This society probably consisted of a community of 3000 to 5000 population in several compounds covering an area of approx. 2 square miles.
