Ellen: It's been great hanging out with Paul and seeing our friend Kevin and meeting his wife Sarah and their new adorable baby Hayden. It's a bit surreal that it's all been going on with the backdrop of the bombings in London. People here are seeming to take it in stride, however. The news keeps saying that everyone expected something to happen, that it was just a matter of when. My favorite newspaper headline so far has been: "Londoners to Terrorists: To Hell With You". Funny, and a few people have pointed this out to us, that we traveled...

May 7, 2004 - Dublin to Holyhead

We left Dublin this morning at 8.00 am on the ferry bound for Holyhead. Compared to our last ferry trip, the Irish Sea was like a millpond and we arrived in Holyhead without incident. This ferry took somewhat longer than our previous "fast ferry". Arriving at Holyhead, you could see the Aluminium Smelter at Anglesea.
