Jul 16, 2016 - Plymouth - Glastonbury - Bath - Newport, Wales

Stelly here - Giving Shelly a break from the journal update today although she is doing a wonderful job. We are having a wonderful time and have the best travel buddies you could hope for. Have had a great day today. After leaving the hotel the coach took us for about two hours through beautiful English countryside stopping at a very cute village called Glastonbury for morning tea and then on to Bath. We were supplied with an audio recording and learned all about the ancient Roman Baths and were able to go right to the edge of the baths,...

Aug 18, 2015 - Tredegar House

To have a change from mountains we decided to visit Tredegar House near Newport. Tredegar House is a 17th Century George II country mansion and originally was owned by the Morgan family, later Lords Tredegar; one of the most powerful and influential families in the area. Aug 27, 2008 - Wales (E-tap Hotel Newport)

E-tap hotel is basic, but remarkably comfortable. Well except for the small toilet. Without taking too much away from the imagination if I sit on the loo my shoulders are wedged against either wall. And as for the clean up afterwards, well. Can I leave it with you imagining a large guy, doing amazing contortions, balancing on one leg, whilst swearing, almost taking the toilet roll holder off the wall and finally emerging with a back so cricked that it takes most of the day to unwind! Breakfast is part of the cost and consists of toast,...

Blue and JGs OE

Aug 26, 2008 - England - Wales (3 Wixford Road – Shirley to E-tap Hotel Newport)

Up early this morning as we head off to Wales to catch up with my Mum’s brother Eric and his partner Gill. They live in Newport in South Wales. We do breakfast and pack away the last of our stuff ready for the trip. It will be a sad parting with Uncle Jim and Auntie Pat. They have made us extremely welcome and we have both been very comfortable staying with them. We fully appreciate that they have gone out of their way to make our stay here happy, with chauffeured tours of the surrounding area, visits to various landmarks and the...
