Jun 3, 2016 - Day 12 Cardiff to Llandrindod Wells

The sun is shining again this morning. Who hoo. The air has a little chill so dressed in layers. Went out for a quick run and this time took the walking trail in the opposite direction from where we walked yesterday. I still find it hard to believe how few people are out jogging or cycling. I saw about 3 people this morning. Either I'm too early for them or they aren't keen exercisers (and I doubt that). We set off for Swansea reasonably early and on the way out of Cardiff, drove down to the ocean and then on to Barry to look at the docks....

Sep 8, 2011 - Glouscester/Down Hatherley Lane to Llandrindod Wells - Day 7

Hatherley outside Gloucester a way out in the countryside was a joy to wake up to. A peaceful night's sleep for all; cool and breezy and autumn is sure setting in quickly. Taking our time this morning we left a little later than would be usual on a road trip and headed west and south, crossing the Severn and making our way down the west bank towards the Bristol Channel. The adjustment to the driving is really far easier than I imagined. Nothing to it really, just remember to look right instead of left. Lovely little villages and soon we...

2011 UK and Ireland

Oct 14, 2008 - Llandrindod Wells

Weather: Cool - Light rain We left our accommodation at Astor House in Bath - never having seen our hosts. Very strange! And then we were off on our way to Wales - the place of unpronounceable towns. We took quiet some time after crossing the Lower Severn River, before we saw the true Welsh countryside - which is just splendid. We stopped at Abergavenny for morning tea, and wandered around this lovely town. It was market day and so there was lots of fresh produce on offer, and also a man selling owls. Lyn thought they were stuffed birds...
