Jul 15, 2015 - Aberaeron and our first walk along the Ceredigion Coast.

Today we visited the beautiful small town just north of our campground of Aberaeron. With its brightly coloured Georgian houses around the town’s internal harbour it was a lovely place to wander. The town had been built in one fell swoop in the early 19th century by Reverend Alban Gwynne. After the 1807 Harbour Act paved the way for port development the Rev spent his wife’s inheritance dredging the Aeron estuary as a new port for mid Wales and constructing a formally planned town around it. Mar 4, 2012 - Pembroke and Aberaeron, Wales

Yesterday, we awoke to learn that it had rained most of the night and we had to be given a tow off our campsite by Wish! There was a cold northerly blowing so we decided to forego the walk that morning and head for the south-west corner of Wales. It was a lovely drive, although it rained on and off and we fortunately took a wrong turn in Pembroke that lead to the discovery of Windmill Hill Farm (SA 71 5BT); a small campsite that was open!
