Jun 30, 2015 - South Llyn (Cricieth To Pwllheli)

It was a hot sunny day so we decided to head west along the peninsula they call The Llyn. Our first stop was the charming village of Cricieth which in Victorian times was very fashionable seaside resort. Dominating the water front is the castle which was started by Llywelyn ap Iorwerth in 1230 but strengthened and finished once again by Edward I. After wandering around the village, the castle (now a complete ruin) was a fantastic place to get wonderful views of the Cardigan Bay and along the Llyn coast. We spent ages exploring the village...
