Aug 28, 2011 - York to Scotland

Aug 26 th.... Hi no wifi for a few days so at Mackers again. We left York with iconic on hand and headed North to Scotland,we knew it was going to be a fair hike... we stopped a Corbridge at a lovely village deli and had picnic and hot chocolates,beautiful village,we bought strawberry jam and lemon curd homemade yumo... Jus outside Corbridge we ha planned to stop at Corbridge roman fort site...wow 71 ad village for the Romans who were building Hadians wall,a supply town....it was fascinating,we had umbrellas and audio players walking...

NED on Tour! 2011

Nov 6, 1976 - Day trip to Linlithgow

We set off for Linlithgow about 10.30am. It was about an hour's drive so we went through to Queens Ferry to have a look at the two Forth Bridges. Then back to Linlithgow to meet Myra and Jim (Gallacher?), Ilza and Graeme. Had a lovely roast lunch and dessert. Then Myra took us through into town to see St Michael's Church,, where Mary Queen of Scots was reputedly christened, and the Palace next door where she was born. It was really interesting and it was a pity it was such a hurried visit. We drove home after dark, despite Uncle Bill's not...
