There was very strong wind overnight and most of today, so we decided to stay put for the day. Caught up with some washing, had a few people admiring the boat and wanting a chat, so the day passed rather quickly. We're also close to this gas power station and numerous wind machines. The canal passes under the railway line and tomorrow we will be able to see the tracks swung across to allow us to pass through. Looks very interesting. New Adventures

Oct 16, 2017 - Power

Off we set at 9.30am following a narrow boat called "coz we can", trying to avoid all the debris floating down the river. Then we overtook the narrow boat (coz we could!!!!) as they were slowing us down and we were worried we wouldn't get to Keadby Lock before the tide started rushing in again. Large power stations poke their heads out of the mist, as do the many wind machines. We crossed over a Roman Causeway which was crossed by Harold in 1066 en route to Hastings after defeating the Danes. The sun was a strange colour today -...
