Jul 10, 2015 - Another walk in Snowdonia National Park with great views of Snowdon

We were making the best of the weather and so we had a second day of walking in Snowdonia National Park. We parked at Rhyd-Ddu and headed south on an excellent multi-purpose path towards Beddgelert. It was perfect day and at regular points on the trail we got great views of Snowdon and the surrounding mountains. At Beddgelert we took the Welsh Highland Railway back to Rhyd-Ddu. Jul 6, 2015 - Sygun Copper Mine

It had rained heavily for two days, we were getting cabin fever so we headed to the Sygun Copper Mine at Beddgelert. We were surprised that Daisy was allowed in the mine and she did very well with the experience considering she had to climb 186 open steps Within the hillside above Beddgelert several lodes - steeply inclined (or often vertical) veins or seams of minerals, have been mined for the copper-ore that they contained. Jul 1, 2015 - Beddgelert and around

Today was hot, muggy and cloudy not a day for a strenuous walk. We headed out to the small village of Beddgelert in the Snowdonia National Park. This was a really charming village which sits on the confluence of the Glaslyn and Colwyn rivers and surrounded by hills. There was a lovely walk along the banks of the Glaslyn River which we enjoyed walking despite the heat.
