This day, me and several classmates headed on a fieldtrip for one of our Irish Cultural Heritage classes. We headed to this place in Northern Ireland where a lot of the folklore/ stories are from. At the site, we watched a short film about some of the stories (very supernatural and sometimes a little bizarre). Then we walked a short way and came to the “living history” part of the experience. This was really cool actually. These two little old women were dressed like they would have been dressed centuries ago — in cloth/ animal hides....

Oct 13, 2011 - Thursday in Armagh

Carol and I headed for the Irish and Local Studies Library again. It had a good collection of books and maps covering Armagh and we found lots of reason to bury our noses in these until lunch time. We ran into Terry and the others on the street not far away. A passerby suggested we try a small Australian restaurant nearby. We walked up a very steep street and huffing and puffing arrived at a lovely little restaurant with great food. Back to the Library for Carol and me. Apr 17, 2006 - It's started.

Well really it started some months past, if only as an idea. The catalyst was 'what to do for Scott's 13th birthay'. The thought was to do something very special that would be memorable to Scott, to mark his first teenage year. The result after lots of other ideas was this trip. We'll miss Alex - and the rest of our families, but will keep in touch with everyone, everyway we can, as often as we can, and through this web site.
