We had to do a Stately Home! So this was it. A good collection of Art and sculptures and ceiling frescos. WOrth a quick look. A bonus was a Farmers market happening in the grounds. Selling local produce, including pheasants, grouse, venison, etc. Then on to a lavendar farm. The farm itself a major disappointment. The grow very little of their own lavendar. They are more like a nursery. However they had l;ots of lavendar goodies for sale and food made with l;avendar as an ingredient. Fancy cakes containing bits of lavendar, and with...

We headed up the coast of England looking for a nice little village on the sea. As the navigator, I get the opportunity to suggest places to try. But as you'll remember with Barry (the creepy town, not our friend), sometimes I don't make the right decisions based on place names. This time I thought Cleethorpes sounded like a nice place, plus it had a place called Pleasure Land Park or something like that. I thought it sounded promising. May 4, 2004 - Edinburgh/York

I got up late (a little after 8:00) and got ready for another day on the bus. I checked out of the hostel and stopped at the Starbucks (I'm a glutton for punishment) where I encountered the same rude woman. Managed again not to stuff her in the garbage can and continued on my way to the bus station. Arrived considerably early (better than late) and finally boarded the bus about 10:45.
