Neben Ashgabat fliege ich noch nach Turkmenbashi, eine Stadt am Kaspischen Meer, die in Zukunft mehrere Tausende Touristen beherbergen soll. Davon zeugen schon heute der große, nagelneue Flughafen, die Hoteltürme am Strand und ein künstlicher Kanal, an dessen Ufer über 40 Restaurants sind. Dazu kommen kann noch nagelneue, riesig breite Straßen, die von tausenden opulenten Straßenleuchten gesäumt sind, aber auf denen kaum ein Auto fährt. Und ein Wasserpark am Ufer des Meeres mit der größten Fontäne der Welt und allerlei Musik- und...

Jan 26, 2008 - Barco Baku - Turkmenbashi (TURKMENISTAN)

Tomar este barco fue un parto. Primero, para comprar el boleto me tomo varia llamadas, viajes, discusiones y esperas. Despues, nadie estaba seguro cuando salia el barco (y menos cuando llegaba!). Supuestamente deberia tomar aprox. 15 horas, pero termino tomando 52!! Me dieron una cabina helada, felizmente con un lavatorio con agua (solo fria, claro). La primera noche fue normal, porque estaba contemplada dentro del tiempo planeado. Pero a la manhana siguiente me desperte y sali con todas mis cosas segun yo a bajar al puerto, y me di cuenta...

What a journey from Ashgabat to Turkmenbashi. I met a brother sister team, really nice people. First the power in the whole car blows up, then some scumbag gcop trys to extort money from me because he says the area i am going is not printed in my passport"big problem"he say. "no problem" i say. give me ten dollars"i dont have ten dollars" back and forth and he finaly fucks off. then someone throws a rock threw our car window, luckey no one was hurt.
