I got up at 2:30 to try to take the photo of the 4 moons in 1 in the most Sacred Valley, in the Sol y Luna Hotel. The four moons in one were the Full moon, the super moon nearest to earth, the blue moon and the red moon all in one night. Unfortunately we were not in the right place for a full eclipse plus it was cloudy. Came back to bed disappointed but happy that I had tried. We had a lazy start to the day but headed back into the mountains to visit Moray. The huge amphitheatre made up of concentric terraces was used as a food production...

May 26, 2009 - Pisac - Moray
Maras was an agricultural site where plants were acclimatized to grow in different elevations. The circles in the photo cover 2,000 feet from the top to the bottom. After completing these circles, the seeds would be taken to the coast to be acclimated there. They have developed 4,000 different kinds of potatoes, varying in color, size, and texture.

Oct 8, 2007 - Salinas und Moray
Für den heutigen Ausflug haben wir uns schon seeeeeeehr viel zugetraut: Wir sind mit einem sogenannten Collectivo (Sammelbus der Einheimischen) ca. 1.5 Stunden in Richtung Urubamba gefahren, um die lokale Salzgewinnung (Salinas) anzuschauen. Eine Kooperation bestehend aus rund 400 Bauernfamilien bearbeitet die rund 5'000 Becken, welche mit Salzwasser aus einem nahe gelegenen, inaktiven Vulkan gespiesen werden. Pro Monat können aus einem Becken ca. 300 kg Salz gewonnen werden, womit die Bauern dann 48 Nuevos Soles (knapp 20 SFr.) verdienen....
