Nov 10, 2005 - The Catlins Coast

We contined heading south down the East coast and spent the day cruising along the Catlin's coast. A famous scenic and wildlife reserve right at the bottom of the South Island and normally missed by travellers, shame coz it wuz gorgeous. We were lucky to see the rare NZ yellow eyed Penguins in a petrified forest right by the sea and around the corner in a bay. They are even rarer Hectors Dolphin. The Dolphins were amazing, they come in right into the bay to have their babies and we were able to get right up close and see them surfing inside...
