We had to catch a boat at 9am the morning we headed to turtle island so the group met at 7.30am to head in search of a bit of breakfast. As I mentioned before, Sandakan itself really had very little of any interest but we manage to find a buffet breakfast near the seafront that did the job. We had packed another overnight bag for the island so after breakfast we checked our luggage into the hotel and headed 15mins up the road to the pier. Jun 25, 2010 - Pt 3.... TURTLES!!!

A couple of early morning boat trips and we arrvied on the Island at around 11 am - where we were free until 6:30pm. The Island is one of 3 in the park thats owned jointly by Malaysia and the Phillipines. They exist to enusre the survival of the sea turtle by moving the eggs once they've been laid and moving them to a safer place away from predators. I hired some snorkelling gear and went snorkelling for a couple of hours off the beach. The water was lovely and clear and I got some good fishy photos. The evening was better though. After...
