We had another early excursion today in Guatemala, which met at 7:50am. So we ate breakfast again in the room and met our group and headed off to the San Fellipe fortress. This fortress was built by the Spaniards to keep pirates from entering Lago Izabel from the Rio Dulce. The Rio Dulce runs from Santo Thomas through the center of the country to Lago Izabal.
