Jul 2, 2013 - Nurburgring - unfortunately not...

Update to follow, but we are both safe and after a trip on a car transporter the 550 is back up and running again. The delay (tire delaminated on the Autobahn) meant we missed the open lapping... :( As you can see from the pictures we had a bit of a tire problem. Thanks to the German Auto Club we were picked up on a flatbed and taken to their depot. They sourced two replacement tires for us and had us up and running again in 3 hours.

@@@@@@@ BACKGROUND I will write about our experiences in Nürburgring soon, but for some general information, here are some exerts from the Lonely Planet – Germany chapter on Rhineland – Palatinate & Saarland: This historic Formula One racecar track has hosted many spectacular races with legendary drivers since its completion in 1927. The 20.8km, 73-curve Nordschleife (North Loop) was not only the longest circuit ever built but also one of the most difficult, earning the respectful moniker ‘Green Hell’ from racing legend Jackie Stewart....
