Aug 12, 2007 - Rostock, Germany

We sailed into Rostock, Germany on Thursday, August 9. Its a beautiful little German town. We are here as part of the Hanse Sail which is an historical event dating back to the 1400's....lots more history to it than that but thats all I know right now. Our 3-hour tour of Rostock starts at 9:00. Very well informed young female guide. Interesting town, dating back to pre-1200s. Great olde worlde charm with current population of some 1.2M. Would like to have gone back but not really the time. Instead we walked around Warnemunde, a former fishing village, now holiday resort. Population about 6000....
