We woke up to cold, grey and windy weather. After the heat of the last few weeks it felt cold. We decided we would head south to the town Schwerin the capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and hoped the weather would improve. The old town was OK but not that impressive. However the main purpose of visiting the town was to visit the Schloss Schwerin. May 1, 2007 - ***Tuesday afternoon off to the Baltic coast

After finishing up laundry I drove over to the coast. It is known for it's long stretches of white sand. Well I found out they like to closely monitor this at these popular resort areas with fencing complete with barbs on top, and long swaths of prickly bushes like roses! It cost around E3 or 4 to go in during prime sunning hours, about E1,50 after. I didn't but walked to where I could see the infamous white sand, take a picture, and have a cappacino and bratwurst!
