Nov 8, 2016 - A long unplanned day

While we were at the campground near Limoges we didn't do very much except look ahead to where we were going to go. The first day was lovely but the weather changed to bitter cold. We headed south once again today and intended to drive about 290 miles to an aire at Carcassone. We could not find any campground open between Limoges and Carcassone. Not sure the French have woken up to the fact that camping is just not a summer activity! Dec 29, 2015 - Move to Elne

We moved from windy Carcassonne to the small town of Elne close to the French/Spanish border and also close to the southern Pyrenees. It was only one of two campgrounds open in the area, all the rest were closed for the winter. Our campground hosts had just the spot for us in large field area, where the ground was good and solid at the back of the campground. It even had views of the mountains and was very quiet.
