Today we decided to undertake a long drive and visit Mons Klint or the White Cliffs of Denmark on the island of Mons. The chalk cliffs stretch for 6km and at places 120m above sea level. The chalk forming the cliffs consists of the remains of shells from millions of microscopic creatures (coccolithophores) which lived on the seabed over 70 million years ago.
