NEWS FLASH!!! Britain has decided to fall in with the rest of Europe and drive on the right hand side of the road. They intend to implement the change incrementally next Sunday by moving trucks to the right hand side of the road. Lots of photos from Denmark, our German ones we will send next trip to the Internet. Please excuse if we are repeating some of them. We are off to Heidelberg on Monday to spend some time with our Rotary Exchange Student from years ago, Mignon. Then we will head for Italy, at last, through Austria and Switzerland....

Jun 19, 2006 - Ribe, Scandinavia's Oldest Town

Our last day with Phil's parents took us from Odense in Denmark to Hamburg in Germany, via Ribe, Scandinavia's oldest town. Ribe dates back to AD 869 and the entire old town is preserved with more than 100 buildings in the National Trust. Cobbled stone streets and half-timbered houses are what make this town so picturesque. After sampling our last Danishes & spending our last Kroner in the supermarket we finally left Scandinavia as we made for Hamburg. May 2, 2006 - Ribe, Denmark

The town of Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark. It is also very well preserved because their last fire was in 1580 and then the town lost all economic sustainability and could not afford to build new things. The old part of the city only has 3000 people. But oddly, the best shopping with tons of designer brands. The first day we found out that the Viking Village that I wanted to take Trav to would not be open until the weekend. I was so mad. But then later that day the hostel manager came to find us to tell us he was wrong and it was open....

Oct 23, 2004 - In Denmark at last & APARTMENT HUNTING (please take a moment to read this!!!!)

First off. **************If any of you know of any apartments available for the 1st of December. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!! I'm looking for a one bedroom, in kits. No suites in houses. I'm not going to get any pickier than that other than 'no dumps please' since places are so hard to come by in kits! Ari's India Tour

Sep 5, 1976 - Esbjerg to Harwich

We were up at 6.30 and had breakfast, then we were off for Esbjerg. We caught a ferry at 10.15 approx., which took about 50 minutes so we had an early lunch on the boat. Then we had another drive to Odense where we stopped to see Hans Christian Anderson's house, and then we went on to cross another stretch of water, by bridge this time, and arrived in Esbjerg about 2.30pm.
