Dec 15, 2006 - Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica
Hey you guys, we've been on the move again and are now in sunny Costa Rica! Pretty cool crossing the border we actually walked over the line instead of being on a bus, so naturally we had to jump between Nicaragua and Costa Rica a few times!! We are now in Playa Tamarindo, which was described by the bible as a small surfing town. So true its like we have arrived in a really hot Newquay! Its great, surfer dudes are everywhere, the beach is huge and the waves massive! We went swimming yesterday and realised how powerful they were so we...

Oct 15, 2006 - Tamarindo, Costa Rica
Hola from Tamarindo... We made our way to Tamarindo which is on the Pacific Coast from La Fortuna via a charter through Interbus. We felt pretty banged up by the time we arrived, as the Costa Rican roads leave much to be desired. Actually, you can hardly call them roads. We arrived in Tamarindo after a very tiring four and a half hour ride. When we arrived in Tamarindo, we didn't actually know where we were going to stay, but fortunately a girl on our transfer suggested a place, Hotel Chocolate. So far, the recommendations of others have...

Jan 25, 2006 - Tamarindo
Gelukkig...

Jul 1, 2005 - Back In Tamarindo
Well I am back in Tamarindo enjoying the good life with The Liddy's. They have been nice enough to have me which means the lap of budget luxury. A bed, air conditioning, hot water, clean sheets, flushable paper toilet, cable television; oh baby the works. It has been great hanging out with John and Deb and the kids. Although at times I wanted to strangle the kids, makes me wonder; 'do I wanna be a dad?' Man. I surfed three outta the five days we were there, I graduated from the foam practice long boards to the fun board by the last time I...

Jun 20, 2005 - Costa Rica Here I Come
So as you have figured out I chose to go straight through to Costa Rica, Tamarindo to be exact. The first thing I noticed about Costa Rica verses other Central American countries was that the cows didn't look anorexic, the roads were smoother, and the Policia love to stop you along the border and get on the buses at check points and ask for Passports. The food was pretty cheap but as soon as Shia and I crossed the border you knew you were beginning to pay a higher price for everything. Then a glance in the lonely planet tour guide were not...

May 27, 2005 - Tamarindo
I was ready to move on - to the Northern Peninsula, Playa Tamarindo where the surfing is first-rate, the beaches are beautiful and the town is laid-back. Hilde and I became friends and she joined me. We found attractive rooms at the peaceful and charming Hotel Mamiri, owned by Maurizio, an Italian who travelled the world and finally settled in Costa Rica. The place is furnished in Indonesian style. That eve Hilde and I had a delicous dinner at Pachanga where I met Walter. The next days I had a very good time (besides the cold that I...

May 16, 2005 - Liebe Gruesse aus Playa Tamarindo!
Hallo Zusammen! Mai in San Jose angekommen.

Feb 27, 2005 - Tamarindo
This is my second day in Tamarindo. Yesterday I took a 7am flight and arrived here at about 8am. I was a very small plane and luckily the weather was great because they bounce around a lot. When I arrived I decided to walk into town, about 6 miles. I was very lucky to get a room at "la Botella de Leche", this is peak season and a lot of places are full. It is a great atmosphere, run by a family from Argentina. Quite of few of the people staying there are also from Argentina so my Spanish is getting a little better. I didn't want to spend to...

Dec 30, 2004 - Week 3... New Year on the beach!
Good bye 2004, though with so many fantastic times in London, Bath, the USA, Canada and Central America, it is really a "see you later" in my memory!!! Wonderful people who made me laughed, you know who you are!! And a BIIIiiiiiigggg hello to 2005, with much more exciting things in store, and to share with you all here!! Will be thinking of you all in Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica. If you think of me at the same time too, might even be able to telepathetically transport you here with me on the warm Pacific beach!! ;p Wishing you all the very...

Dec 20, 2004 - Costa Part One
Tamarindo, Nosara, Samara I spent a week in Costa Rica prior to Christmas. This was partly to explore the northern region and partly to exit Nicaragua for more than 48 hours, as Canadians only have 30 day visas to Nicaragua. It was a great time. Being the first day to travel solo it was a comfort to bump into an old friend, Ana, from Spanish school in Antigua at the boarder. We literally bumped into each other while walking across from Nicaragua to Costa Rica. After trying unsuccessfully to hitch a ride into Costa Rica we caught a bus and...
